My idea has gone from a story about a guy who loses his memory in the middle of nowhere, to in the middle of a frozen ocean, to a boy who finds a giant from an old legend. I've learned that writing out what you plan on doing for long term goals is key, because you end up keeping the main idea in your head, but you forget the little details, like adding in a new character, but forgetting why you added them in there. I've learned that I am a huge procrastinator and I need to find motivation to get my stuff done when it should be done.

On Friday I wrote more of my story. I've learned how difficult it is to write an original story with its own history and plots that you cant over lap. Writing a story isn't just how you want the readers to see your world, but it's also about how you see it, because how can a reader see your world if you're not making what you want.
Last Innovation Day, I decided to continue writing out my story in my practice story, and then when I'm done I'll move it over to my one pager. This way I am choosing to do it helps me as I am writing the story because I can see the errors as I write a lot more easier than looking for them in a much smaller font. I don't think this story will appeal to people's emotions as much as the other story was going to, or at all, because this story is based in a very small time period, a day or two to be exact. This story is also supposed to be a fantasy story, which was something I wanted to stay away from in the begining, that will leave a lot open at the end.
In the beggining of the process, I thought I need to stay away from certain ideas like fantasy and Sc-Fi because not everybody likes that, but then I heard a piece of information that I can't remember where I heard it, but this person said, "If you focus on pleasing the readers when writing a book, you won't make a good book. You have to focus on pleasing yourself." That inspired me to scrap my Innovation project and replace it with my practice book that is 10x further than my actual book. I wasn't feeling the idea I was going in, that and I only had a paragraph written. So now I have a lot more done and actually want to finish this book.
Last innovation class I was sick with an ear innfection and an allergic reaction so I did not get anything done last week for my project.
I have been sick since Saturday and still am, hence why I didn't post on time. My Innovation time was spent writing my story and editing it to success. My story is coming along slower than it should be at this point but that's my fault. I have honestly been thinking about switching my story to a new topic because I already lost interest in this topic and just want to use my own story that I've been writing in my own time because that's come along farther than this one has.
Last Friday, I didn't have Innovation Day. I had Innovation Day last Thursday. I worked on my book and helped Matt test his innovation project for him. I really didn't get far, but that was my fault for not focusing. I still got stuff done though and I am proud of what I accomplished. I have many plans for my story and they require a lot of planning, so I have to be very careful to not contradict my plans.
My for innovation class last Friday, I worked on writing my story. Through my expirience of writing this story, and another story for fun, I learned how hard it is when writing a story. You think that your creative spirit would flow and you would have in your hands, a story that you wrote, but when you have a story planned out, it becomes a lot harder because you, or at least I am, constantly double checking everything I write making sure something doesn't contradict something in the future of the book.
This week for my blog I realized I may have made some confusion in my earlier post where I said I made progress. When I said that I have been making progress in my innovation project, it hasn't all been progress on my story, some of it has been jotted down in notes and very little of it has been actual written in the story. Although I have started writing recently, I don't have a lot of progress in the actual story itself.
For the last few Innovation Days that I have neglected to write about I have been making progression my in writings. Through this process of writing a story I have learned the true meaning of writers block, and what it is to create a side character that you love more than the main character only to have him killed, kinda like in Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead. To have few characters in the whole book and have one of the best characters die is really hard for me to do, but it gets people's attention and allows people to feel even closer to the character out of pity because he's no longer there and makes them reminisce on their favorite moment with the character. My goal at the end of writing this is to have as little people make suggestions to the story as possible because it'll mean the book is finished, now obviously somethings can't be changed in the story but if I feel like I wanted it from the beggining then that's what'll define if that part stays in the story.
